PHILADELPHIA — An encouraging night for the Mets took an ominous turn on Friday, as Francisco Lindor was removed from their game against the Phillies before the bottom of the seventh.

The shortstop grabbed his left knee after being caught in a rundown and slipping between second and third to end the top of the sixth.

However, the Mets announced Lindor was dealing with lower back soreness.

It came after the National League MVP candidate singled in Harrison Bader to extend the Mets’ lead over the Phillies to 7-0.

It was Lindor’s second hit of the night.

He played the bottom of the sixth and made a play on a Johan Rojas grounder for the second out.

With Lindor out of the game, Jose Iglesias moved from second base to short.

Newcomer Eddy Alvarez entered the game at second.
