George Kittle’s wife, Claire, was emotional about the 49ers cutting fullback Kyle Juszczyk.
Kittle and Juszczyk were 49ers teammates for eight years before the 49ers informed the latter Monday they were releasing him, according to ESPN.
“Just rip out our hearts why don’t you,” Claire captioned an Instagram Story on Monday with a photo that featured herself, Kittle, Juszczyk and his wife, Kristin, along with a heartbroken emoji.
“8 years a Niner. 12 year vet. 9 consecutive Pro Bowls. 2 x All Pro. 2024 49ers Captain.”
The 49ers will save $2,926,000 on the salary cap with the move.
“It’ll never make sense,” Claire captioned a separate Instagram Story. “I thank the Lord for bringing us together in 2017. You boys are everything an organization could dream of, on and off the field. I’m so proud of you.”
“That’s family,” she wrote in a different Instagram Story with a picture of Kittle and Juszczyk.
She posted several other photos of the two former teammates, as well as numerous replies from fans upset about the news.
And she wasn’t the only one upset.
Christian McCaffrey’s wife, Olivia Culpo, posted a photo of them along with the Juszczyks on her own Instagram Story and captioned it “Family” with a heart emoji.

Juszczyk, 33, was named to the All-Pro First Team in 2023-24 and the All-Pro Second Team last year. He has been integral to the 49ers’ offense since arriving in 2017.
He told ESPN after last season that he still plans on playing next year, regardless of which team he is with.
“I know I’m not done,” Juszczyk said. “I’m definitely not done playing. I’ve seen zero regression. I think especially, I mean, you can turn on the last two games and please show me where I’ve regressed, so I have no plans of stopping.”
The 49ers on Monday reportedly agreed to a three-year deal worth up to $20.25 million with tight end Luke Farrell to back up Kittle, and brought back running back Patrick Taylor Jr. on a one-year deal.
