The Georgia football program’s string of driving-related incidents continued after one of its players was charged with fleeing a police officer and reckless driving.
Georgia offensive lineman Nyier Daniels was arrested on a slew of charges Sunday and remains behind bars at the time of this writing.
Daniels is facing three felony and 10 misdemeanor charges after he was arrested at 10 a.m. Sunday morning by Commerce Police.

Specific details about the incident were not immediately available, but among the charges listed in online jail records were two felony second degree cruelty to children charges and a felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer charge.
Additional misdemeanor charges included stop signs and yield signs violations, no-passing zones and reckless driving, among others.
The University of Georgia confirmed that it is aware of the arrest in a statement to UGA Sports.
“We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information. This is a pending legal matter and we will not have further comment at this time,” team spokesman Steven Drummond told the outlet.
DawgsHQ reported that Daniels was no longer with the team.
The arrest came a day after the redshirt freshman had appeared in his third game of the year — the Bulldogs’ 35-3 win over Charlotte on Saturday — and played 10 snaps for Georgia.

He logged 12 snaps against Marshall in the opener and nine snaps against Austin Peay on Sept. 6.
Daniels had been a highly touted prospect out of New Jersey’s Bergen Catholic in 2024.
This latest incident racks up more than 20 driving-related incidents involving Georgia football players dating back to January 2023.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart had been less tolerant of instances like that this year and, in March, indefinitely suspended receiver Nitro Tuggle and offensive lineman Marquis Easley after they were arrested in separate incidents.
In 2023, offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy died in a crash that happened when it was alleged that LeCroy was racing defensive tackle Jalen Carter.
