Giants release injury-plague kicker Graham Gano after six seasons

PHOENIX – What was impending became inevitable on Sunday when the Giants released their veteran kicker, Graham Gano, The Post confirmed.

The expected move saves the Giants $4.5 million on this year’s salary cap and counts for $1.25 million in dead cap money.

Gano will turn 39 on April 9.

He signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract before the 2023 season and, at the time, it looked like a smart move for the Giants, given that Gano in his previous three years with the team was nearly automatic with his field goal attempts.

Gano, though, broke down physically and made it into only 23 games the past three seasons, including only five in 2025.

In his six years with the Giants, Gano made 87.4 percent of his field goal attempts.

The Giants have two kickers currently on their roster. Rookie Ben Sauls went 8 for 8 on his field goals late last season.

In free agency, the Giants signed Jason Sanders, who connected on 84.6 percent of his field goals in seven years with the Dolphins. Sanders, 30, missed the entire 2025 with a hip injury.
