Golfer arrested after smashing driver over another player’s head in shocking video

An intoxicated golfer was arrested earlier this month after smashing a driver over another player’s head in a stunning scene.

The disastrous event, caught on video, took place at Burnaby Mountain Golf Course in British Columbia, Canada on Oct. 12, when a verbal dispute turned into an ugly attack as the two golfers yelled back and forth; with one saying “You hit f–king towards me.”

A golfer wearing a white hat and dark-colored shirt walked toward the other, who was wearing a pink shirt, before lifting his right arm holding a driver, and nailing his opposition in the head with a loud thud.

Warning: Graphic language

“What the f–k is wrong with you?!” one of the golfers on the course can be heard saying in the video. “Call the f—king cops!”

Cops told Burnabynow that the 43-year-old suspect was intoxicated and arrested on the scene with no incident at the course.

The head of the driver came flying off as the others watched in horror, although the golfer wearing the pink collared shirt appeared to get up under his own power but was clearly hurt from the blow to the skull.

The suspect now faces possible assault with a weapon charges among others and he has been released pending a court date.

“This is the second time Burnaby officers have dealt with a fight at a golf course since June,” RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj told Burnabynow. “It is unacceptable to engage in a physical altercation like this at a recreational facility. Luckily there were no serious injuries.”

Kalanj was referencing a nasty brawl that broke out at Riverway Golf Course in June.
