Haason Reddick fires back at Bill Belichick after scathing criticism: ‘Give him a job’

Haason Reddick took a shot at Bill Belichick’s job status.

In his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday, Belichick was asked by “Boston Connor,” the New England fan on the show, about reveling in the Patriots’ 25-22 win over the AFC East rival Jets on Sunday.

Belichick gradually built up to a direct shot at Reddick, who was playing his first game for the Jets after a prolonged holdout over a contract dispute.

After praising Jacoby Brissett for the Pats’ final drive and Rhamondre Stevenson for a great game, Belichick tallied up Jets mistakes including drops and a missed PAT from Greg Zeurlein.

Then he took aim at Reddick.

“Reddick came into the game and just ran past the quarterback multiple times, whether it was [Drake] Maye or Jacoby, and created those scramble lanes that the Patriots took advantage of,” Belichick said.

Reddick apparently caught wind of the segment and fired back at the former Patriots head coach in a post on X

“Aye someone call Bill Belichick and give him a job,” Reddick wrote. “Seems like he’s home bored and can’t keep me out of his mouth. Come up for air why don’t ya.”

Reddick played 26 of 67 defensive snaps and recorded no tackles and just two quarterback pressures.

The Jets acquired Reddick from the Eagles for a conditional third-round pick this past offseason, and Reddick held out in hopes of securing a long-term deal.

Not only did he not get a new contract — he cost himself about $12 million in offseason fines and missed game checks over seven weeks.

Nevertheless, Reddick did not want to discuss the past in postgame media availability Sunday.

“As of right now, fellas and everybody that’s here, I have nothing to say as far as the holdout,” Reddick said. “The only thing I’m worried about right now is what can I do to be better, what can I do to get myself fully up to speed.”
