The Minnesota Vikings are on a roll.
Coming into week 15, Sam Darnold’s red-hot 11-2 club have won six games in a row. A seventh consecutive victory tonight would put them in a tie for first place in the crowded NFC North with the Detroit Lions.
In order to claw their way to the top of the heap, the Purple People Eaters will need to take down the 4-9 Chicago Bears, who have lost seven games in a row. While Caleb Williams’ team is toiling away at the bottom of the division, they shouldn’t be counted out just yet. When the teams last met on Nov. 24, the Vikings barely squeaked out a 30-27 overtime victory.
“These guys are a good football team playing really hard,” Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell said about the Bears in a press conference leading up to the game. “…we’ve got to play really good football to have a chance to win this one.”
“Caleb Williams’ athleticism and elusiveness was real,” he added. “We’re going to have to do a much better job this time around trying to keep him in the pocket.”
Prior to this matchup, the Vikings dismantled the Falcons 42-21 in week 14; the Bears fell 38-13 against the 6-7 San Francisco 49ers.
