Travis Kelce’s already epic offseason in 2024 just got even more lucrative.
The star Chiefs tight end, who is readying for his 12th NFL season and a chance at a Super Bowl three-peat with Kansas City, agreed to a monster deal with Amazon’s Wondery for the popular “New Heights” podcast he hosts with older brother Jason Kelce that’s worth more than $100 million, Variety reported in August 2024.
With the deal that runs for three years, “Wondery has global distribution rights to all audio and video episodes,” according to Variety, and the platform “has exclusive rights to monetize and distribute audio and video podcast episodes.”
That valuation would net Travis in the ballpark of around $50 million if split with Jason and taking into account other figures likely involved in the deal.
Travis’ star has only continued to rise as his romance with global superstar Taylor Swift has intensified.
From endorsements to contract extensions and even moves on the small screen, here’s what to know about Travis’ ever-increasing bottom line.
Off-field endorsements
Kelce has teamed up with a number of notable brands over the years, including Subway, Pfizer, Old Spice, State Farm and Nike, among several others.
In May 2023, Profluence’s Andrew Petcash estimated Kelce earned $5 million per year from endorsements.
The Kelce siblings will also release a cereal with General Mills in fall 2024 called the Kelce Mix, which includes favorites such as Lucky Charms, Reese’s Puffs and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Contract extensions
A third-round pick out of Cincinnati in 2013, Kelce originally agreed to a four-year, $3.12 million deal with the Chiefs that included a signing bonus of $703,304, according to Spotrac.
Three years later, he signed a five-year contract extension with the Chiefs worth $46 million.
The Chiefs re-upped with Kelce again in 2020, agreeing to a four-year, $57.25 million extension.
Two months after winning his third Super Bowl with the Chiefs, Kelce became the league’s highest-paid tight end in April 2024, with Kansas City tacking on two more years to his deal for $34.25 million.
Kelce’s career earnings are estimated to be $76.9 million, per Spotrac.
Hollywood moves
In addition to supporting Swift on the road in the 2024 offseason — with her blockbuster Eras Tour grossing more than $1 billion — Kelce added the titles of “actor” and “game show host” to his resume.
The All-Pro tight end was named the host of Amazon’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” in April 2024, a revamp of the former series, “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” previously hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.
Kelce also recently landed a role in “Happy Gilmore 2” alongside Adam Sandler.
A month later, he joined the cast of Ryan Murphy’s “Grotesquerie,” a horror series that will premiere on FX in September 2024.
The Chiefs kick off the 2024 NFL season against the Ravens on Sept. 5.
