Jalen Hurts and his longtime girlfriend, Bryonna Rivera Burrows are officially engaged.
The Eagles quarterback confirmed the news in a joint interview with Essence on Friday, after going public with their relationship in 2023.
It came after Hurts and Burrows, who works with IBM as an AI partner, sparked engagement buzz when she was seen with a massive diamond ring at the Eagles’ season-opener in São Paulo, Brazil last Friday.
Their engagement included a violinist, candles, and red roses overlooking a stunning ocean view, as seen in photos of the couple obtained by the outlet.
In one photo, Hurts and Burrows were all smiles while dressed in white outfits, and they held each other in another snapshot.
“I knew a long time ago [that she was special],” Hurts told Essence last summer as part of the magazine’s May/June 2023 issue. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling.
“I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”
Hurts and Burrows dated on and off since they met at the University of Alabama — where she was member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and he was the school’s star quarterback and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
The quarterback, who’s known to be private about his personal life, played three seasons at Alabama before transferring to the University of Oklahoma in 2019.
The couple made a rare red carpet appearance at the 2023 Time100 Next at Second in New York City last October.
Before that, Hurts went public with Burrows when she celebrated with him on the field when the Eagles beat the 49ers in the NFC Championship game in January 2023.
Burrows will likely be in attendance when the Eagles face the Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Monday Night Football.
