Jets’ draft came with clear Justin Fields vision

While an admitted exaggeration, the way the Jets behaved in the 2025 NFL Draft gave the impression that they feel as set at quarterback as the Chiefs do with Patrick Mahomes.

The way new Jets general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn operated through the three-day draft, their intention appeared clear: They’re all in on Justin Fields.

The Jets last month signed Fields, the former Bears first-round pick who played for the Steelers last season, to a two-year, $40 million contract with $30 million guaranteed.

There was some belief that Fields would be a bridge to whomever the Jets might select in the draft in their forever search for a franchise quarterback.
