Jets receive good news after Aaron Rodgers injury scare

Aaron Rodgers should be “fine” and Jets fans can exhale.

The Jets’ 40-year-old quarterback revealed after Sunday’s loss to the Vikings that he has a low-ankle sprain, which head coach Robert Saleh confirmed Monday is the diagnosis.

“All the preliminary stuff says he’ll be fine,” Saleh said.

The Jets have an extra day to get ready for their unlikely first-place showdown with the AFC East rival Bills on Monday night at MetLife Stadium.

Facing the Bills in East Rutherford is the same setting in which Rodgers suffered a torn ACL in the 2023 season-opener.

Rodgers was limping throughout the fourth quarter as he tried to lead the Jets to what would’ve been a 17-point comeback in a 23-17 loss to Minnesota.

“I talked with him (Sunday) night,” Saleh said. “He’s doing fine. Obviously, he’s a little banged up, but he feels good.”

Rodgers has taken a total of 25 hits and eight sacks in the back-to-back losses to the Broncos and Vikings.

He already was dealing with a knee that was “a little swollen” due to “wear and tear” entering Sunday’s game.

Cornerback Michael Carter is going for further testing on his hamstring injury, Saleh said.
