Jets request interview with Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley in head coach search

The Jets’ list of head coach candidates keeps getting longer.

The team has requested an interview with Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for their head coach opening, a source confirmed.

Hafley, 45, has only been with Green Bay for a year.

He spent the previous four years as the head coach at Boston College.

He went 22-26 there.

Hafley is a Montville, N.J., native.

The Jets have interviewed 10 candidates for the job already, with Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph becoming the latest on Wednesday.

The team still has requests in for seven other coaches but it remains to be seen if all of them will interview.

The Jets have also interviewed 15 candidates for their general manager job.

The Packers’ defense had a good year under Hafley.

They finished fifth in yards allowed and sixth in points allowed.
