Takeaways from the Jets’ 35-8 loss against the Bills:

1. While the results on the field were ugly for the Jets on Sunday, they had plenty of other things go their way in terms of the draft. The Giants started the day out by helping the Jets with their win over the Cowboys. That allowed the Jets to move up to No. 2 overall with their loss to the Bills. That eliminates the drama of whether the Jets will have to trade up for a quarterback. Either Oregon’s Dante Moore enters the draft and the Jets fall in love with him or they draft the best non-quarterback.

Then, the Colts lost to the Texans, moving that pick up to either No. 15 or 16, depending on Sunday night’s Ravens result.

Finally, the Raiders win gives the Jets the top pick in the second round (No. 33 overall) because they now have the same record, and while the Raiders get the tiebreaker in the first round, the teams alternate rounds after that.
