The Colts’ succession plan is already underway.

Carlie Irsay-Gordon is expected to assume control of the team after the passing of her father, Jim Irsay, on Wednesday, according to The Indianapolis Star

The 44-year-old will reportedly share ownership with her younger sisters, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson, but Irsay-Gordon will “primarily take charge of the football side of the franchise,” per the outlet.

Foyt and Jackson were named vice chair/owners of the franchise in 2012.

Irsay-Gordon first worked in the marketing department for the Colts organization.

In 2008, she was named a team vice president.

After her father was twice arrested for driving under the influence in 2014, Irsay-Gordon took over as chair of the franchise for a period.

She has since served on various NFL committees and contributed to the team’s football operations and social media/content strategy, among other efforts.

Irsay-Gordon is the third generation of her family to take over the team.

Her father took over as owner in 1997 at the age of 37 following the death of his father Bob, who owned the team from 1971 to his passing.

Irsay, who was 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the afternoon on Wednesday, but no cause of death was given.

“Jim’s dedication and passion for the Indianapolis Colts in addition to his generosity, commitment to the community, and most importantly, his love for his family were unsurpassed. Our deepest sympathies go to his daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, Kalen Jackson, and his entire family as we grieve with them,” Colts COO Pete Ward said in a statement.
