Micah Parsons didn’t seem concerned about his left ankle after being carted off the field with 3:30 left to play in the Cowboys’ 20-15 win over the Giants on Thursday night.
The Dallas linebacker was injured while rushing the passer when Giants guard Greg Van Roten fell onto his leg.
“I’ll be good,” Parsons told Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott after the game.
Parsons added that he was in pain but would be fine, according to The Athletic.
The three-time Pro Bowler was seen limping to the team bus after the game.
Parsons said initial X-rays taken at MetLife Stadium were negative, and he is set to have an MRI exam Friday.
“Right now, I just iced it. I know very little,” Parsons said while sitting at his locker with his left ankle taped. “I’ve got an MRI [Friday], and I’m going to try to get back next week.”
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported after the game there were no indications Parsons suffered a significant injury.
Prescott said Parsons appeared to be in good spirits after the game.
“He’s a helluva player. Big-time playmaker,” the quarterback said. “I’m not watching a lot, but [he] made a huge run stop right there on one of those last possessions. And then, honestly, I’m just hoping it’s not anything serious.
“There’s not a lot of doubts or negative thoughts that go through my head, so, yeah, I didn’t even want to think anything major. Hoping that my thoughts are right and it’s something small. He looked in good spirits, so I’m in good spirits. We’re in good spirits.”
Parsons, who finished with two tackles, was carted off the field with his left cleat off and his foot bare.
The Cowboys medical staff tended to him on the field and he limped to the sideline under his own power.
Dallas improved to 2-2 after defensive struggles in losses to the Saints and Ravens in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively.
The Cowboys face the Steelers in Pittsburgh (3-0) on Oct. 6.
