The two National League Division Series resume Tuesday, as the scenes shift to New York and San Diego for Game 3s with both series knotted at 1-1.
In the early matchup, Aaron Nola takes the hill for the Phillies against Sean Manaea for the Mets. Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos were the stars of Game 2 for Philadelphia, with Harper hitting a huge two-run homer in the sixth inning, followed by a solo shot from Castellanos, who also hit a walk-off RBI single to win it in the bottom of the ninth. Mark Vientos had a big game for the Mets in the loss with two home runs. He’s got a .400/.429/1.179 slash line this postseason.
Out west in the second game, Walker Buehler takes the mound for the Dodgers against Michael King for the Padres. King was thoroughly dominant in his first start of the 2024 postseason, going seven shutout innings and striking out 12 Atlanta Braves in a Game 1 win in the wild-card series. In 15 career postseason starts, Buehler has a 2.94 ERA and the Dodgers are 9-5 in those games. The Padres cruised to a 10-2 Game 2 win behind a pair of Fernando Tatis Jr. home runs, and the series could be getting spicy.
