Manchester City is licking its chops.
After Arsenal’s draw against last-place Wolverhampton on Wednesday, the Cityzens technically control their own destiny in the Premier League title race.
They could close the gap at the top of the table to two points with a win over Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
With Arsenal set to play Tottenham in a North London Derby on Sunday, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Man City exit the weekend as the odds-on favorite to lift the trophy.
City is a -210 favorite to get the win over the Magpies on Saturday.
Newcastle vs. Manchester City odds, prediction
A lot has been made about the changing landscape of the Premier League over the last couple of seasons.
Tactics are changing, old philosophies are en vogue again and teams like Brentford, Bournemouth and Everton are hoping to gatecrash the party for European football next season.
One thing that has remained constant, however, is that Erling Haaland is the most dangerous goalscorer on the planet.

Haaland currently leads the Premier League with 22 goals, and has a chance to add bushels more before the end of the season with the reinforcements Pep Guardiola brought in during the January transfer window.
Logic may suggest that a player like Antoine Semenyo would take away opportunities from Haaland, but what it really will do is stretch defenses, as Semenyo demands that defenses pay mind to him.
He is the third-leading scorer in the league in 2025-26, after all.

Haaland, Semenyo, and the rest of City’s attack should have their way with Newcastle, which has struggled to find any consistency in the Premier League this season.
The Magpiesoccupy 10th place and will likely shift their focus to the Champions League and FA Cup, as they’ve got very little hope of crashing their way into the top five.
City, on the other hand, will be buoyant after Arsenal’s slip-up, and will know they need to apply pressure on the Gunners as they head into Sunday’s rivalry match with Tottenham.
The Cityzens just defeated Newcastle, 3-1, in the EFL Cup semifinals, and I like their chances of replicating that kind of effort at home Saturday.
The Play: Manchester City -1.5 (+122, FanDuel)
