Pat McAfee and Nick Saban hashed out their awkward moment on “College GameDay” that went viral on social media last weekend.
On the ESPN show last Saturday, the legendary Alabama head coach appeared annoyed with McAfee as he danced during a commercial break, instantly becoming an internet sensation in their first on-campus “GameDay” appearance together.
McAfee broached the topic to Saban on his show on Friday, leading to yet another charming interaction between the two polar opposites.
“You side-eyed the s–t out of me,” McAfee said as the pair sat inside Michigan Stadium on Friday.
“I didn’t know what to think,” Saban replied.
McAfee then said what the college football world assumed Saban was thinking.
“You were thinking I was an a–hole.”
McAfee and Saban exchanged compliments about working together on the set, but the former wasn’t done joking about their meme-worthy moment.
“Are you gonna quit ‘GameDay’ because I was dancing during a commercial break?” McAfee asked. “A lot of people were saying that on the internet.”
Saban then proved he had jokes of his own about the interaction.
“No, [I was] thinking about when you’re gonna ask me to dance.”
McAfee and Saban are part of a revamped “College GameDay” crew, which features a staple group of Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard.
This season is Saban’s first on the “GameDay” team after retiring as the Crimson Tide’s head coach earlier this year.
On Aug. 23, McAfee admittedly had too much to drink on ESPN’s airwaves with Saban by his side during a live show of the former punter’s own show at a pub in Ireland.
At one point during the show, McAfee got up and did an Irish dance with Saban’s wife, “Miss Terry.”
