Things got heated early in the Jets joint practice with the Panthers on Thursday.
The first skirmish came after Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall caught a touchdown over Jets cornerback D.J. Reed, who was also flagged for pass interference on the play.
Reed fell to the ground after Marshall caught it.
Marshall then flipped the ball at Reed on the ground, drawing the ire of the Jets.
Jets safety Chuck Clark raced toward Marshall and soon there was a skirmish involving many players from both teams.
Reed picked up the ball and threw it toward Marshall.
Later in practice, Jets defensive end Micheal Clemons got into it with a Panthers lineman and was throwing punches.
Fights are always a concern at joint practices.
The Giants and Lions were each fined $200,000 for fights during their joint practices earlier this summer.
