Puka Nacua’s time on the field ended early on Sunday against the Seahawks.

Nacua was tossed in the second quarter of the Rams’ ‘game against the Seahawks after he punched Seattle linebacker Tyrel Dodson in the waning seconds of the second quarter.

The incident occurred after a pass that was intended for Nacua was picked off by Seahawks corner Riq Woolen.

Nacua then could be seen getting into a shoving match with Dodson and then the wide receiver could be seen taking a swing at Dodson, striking him in the helmet.

The refs caught the retaliatory action and Nacua was ejected from the game.

Nacua had one catch for 11 yards before he was sent off and had been on the field for 26 of the Rams’ 30 offensive snaps.

The Seahawks had only been down 6-3 when the altercation happened, which led to Seattle getting one final offensive opportunity before halftime.

Geno Smith was able to connect with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 24-yard touchdown pass that sent the Seahawks into the locker room with a 13-3 lead at halftime.

The Rams ended up winning a thriller, 26-20 in overtime as Matthew Stafford connected with Demarcus Robinson for a walk-off touchdown.

Nacua had missed five weeks of the year due to a knee injury and had been placed on IR, which he came off of in Week 8.

There had been some concern about whether Nacua would play this week after he left Thursday’s practice due to a knee issue.

Nacua had hurt the knee on the ground but was ultimately cleared to play in this week’s game.

The wide receiver is one of the Rams’ most important weapons and that became clear in his first game back in Week 8 when he had 106 yards on seven catches in the “Thursday Night Football” showdown with the Vikings.

The Rams play the Dolphins next week on “Monday Night Football.”
