The Rangers aren’t planning to take any chances.
Star forward Artemi Panarin will not suit up for Wednesday night’s tilt with the rival Islanders for roster management purposes, according to The Post’s Mollie Walker.
He’s not expected to play for the Rangers again before the NHL’s Olympic roster freeze on Feb. 4.

Panarin’s days on Broadway were recently revealed to be numbered, with the team reportedly not offering him a contract extension while he’s in the final season of his current deal.
With the team set to enter a “retool,” Panarin is expected to fetch a sizable return for the Rangers on the trade market.
This is a developing story.
