The Red Sox are finally making a big splash.
After missing out on a number of high-profile free agents including Juan Soto and Max Fried, the Red Sox are in agreement on a trade for White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed.
Catching prospect Kyle Teel will be headed back to Chicago in the trade, Sherman reported.
The White Sox are also getting outfielder Braden Montgomery, infielder Chase Meidroth and right-hander Wikelman Gonzalez, The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports.
Crochet was an All-Star last year.
Although he had a 6-12 record on a woeful White Sox team, he had a 3.58 ERA and 1.068 WHIP.
The trade was first reported by the Boston Globe.
