Royals’ Bobby Witt married Maggie Black in All-Star-studded affair: ‘Party of the year’

From high school sweethearts to newlyweds.

Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. tied the knot with Maggie Black, a personal trainer with an All-Star guest list of past and present MLB players at The Thompson Hotel in Dallas on Dec. 14.

Witt’s teammates, Royals catcher Salvador Perez, second baseman Michael Massey, outfielder Dustin Renfroe and his wife Courtney were seen in photos posted on social media.

MLB All-Stars Andrew Benintendi, Whit Merrifield, Cole Ragans and Rusty Greer also attended the lavish event, according to People.

The couple had a “Wittaburger” restaurant at their reception — a play off the Whataburger fast food chain — and featured food in custom packaging labeled, “Let’s Get Witty.”

Their wedding guests were also seen wearing “Let’s Get Witty” caps while on the dance floor.

Alice and Apricot, a Dallas based wedding planning service, was behind the pop-up restaurant, as seen in a video on their Instagram.

The newlyweds sang “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey while on stage with a live band at their wedding reception, as seen in a video posted by Melendez.

“Our goal was to throw the party of the year,” Black told People.

People published the couple’s wedding photos from luxury wedding photographer Britney Tarno.

It’s been quite the year for Witt.

The 23-year-old signed a $288.8 million mega-extension in February, a deal that starts this season and could at least run through the 2030 season — with four years of potential player opt-outs and then three more for the club.

The deal is the largest in Royals history and could be worth up to $377.7 million and run through 2037.

Witt, who was selected by the Royals in the 2019 MLB Draft, made his MLB debut in 2022.
