Travis Kelce finally got in the action on Thursday night in the first half with a huge catch in the second quarter.

The Chiefs’ tight end’s pop-superstar girlfriend was pretty excited, too.

Kelce made a one-yard snag for his first catch of the 2024 season before breaking through on a deep ball on the far side of the field as Kansas City converted on a third-and-12 situation to set up a field goal in what turned into a 27-20 Chiefs win.

After Kelce snagged the short gain, Chiefs tackle Jawaan Taylor was called for a false start, setting up a third-and-long with a bit over eight minutes left in the first half.

Mahomes then took a snap out of the shotgun, waited and waited some more before scrambling out of the pocket to avoid a sack.

As he stepped on the run, he found Kelce in stride for a 23-yard connection.

The pass was a historic one for the Chiefs, as Mahomes became the franchise’s all-time passing yards leader.

Whether Swift knew there was history on the line, she was happy with the grab as she was seen in a suite hugging Kelce’s mom, Donna, as captured by the NBC broadcast.

It was a similar scene to last season, one in which the “Cruel Summer” singer was seen plenty of times at Chiefs games, usually with the Kelce family and other celebrities.

The Chiefs couldn’t get back into the end zone on the drive, though, going up 13-7 on a Harrison Butker field goal.

Kelce finished with three catches and 34 yards receiving in the season-opening win.
