When Francisco Lindor went down with a back injury last Friday in Philadelphia, the Mets’ playoff prospects seemed to be in serious trouble.
But Luisangel Acuña has come up and taken Queens by storm.
The rookie probably wouldn’t have gotten to the Mets, however, if it were not for some shady dealings by the Braves more than seven years ago.
Acuña was set to sign with the Braves as an international free agent out of Venezuela in July 2017, joining the organization with which his half-brother, Ronald Acuña Jr., would eventually become an MVP.
