The one thing Shedeur Sanders is happy about after $200K home robbery

Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders said his jewelry is all accounted for after $200,000 worth of property was stolen at his home during his disastrous NFL debut in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.

Sanders — who will make his first career start in Week 12 against the Raiders as Dillon Gabriel remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol — addressed the robbery during his press conference Wednesday.

“None of my jewelry got took anyway… just caught slipping,” a smiling Sanders said while reporters laughed. “It happens.”

“I’m in a mental space now where not too much can phase me… none of my jewelry got took.” 😅

Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and Colorado football coach Deion Sanders, brought up the incident at his home when a reporter asked what he’s most proud of in his development thus far.

“I would say definitely mentally [and] emotionally,” Sanders, 23, said.

“I know it’s a trending topic that my house got broken into, but I’m in a mental space now to where there’s not too much that can phase me honestly.”

Sanders explained that he’s in a great mental space after his rough NFL debut, which came during the second half of Sunday’s 23-16 home loss to Baltimore after Gabriel exited with a concussion.

“Mentally, emotionally, I’m in in a great place overall. In life there is going to be adversity and things aren’t always going to do as planned,” he said. “But I will say, I’m prepared for everything.”

Sanders was 4-for-16 passing with 47 yards and an interception, while being sacked twice.

The Colorado product, selected in the fifth round of this year’s NFL draft, showed flashes of arm strength but struggled against a strong Ravens defense.

It came after Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said last Wednesday that Sanders had not received reps with the starting offense.

Many, including Shannon Sharpe and Cam Newton, ripped the coach for how he prepared the rookie quarterback for the fill-in duties.

Sanders added that he won’t change how he prepares head of his first NFL start against a 2-8 Raiders team.

“The way I always [prepare], knowing exactly where everyone is going to be … understanding that they have a great defense that’s coached by a great coach,” he said.

The Raiders have a short week to prepare for Sanders after losing to the Cowboys at home, 33-16, on “Monday Night Football.”
