If this offseason were “The Shawshank Redemption,” we would be beyond Rita Hayworth hanging in Andy Dufresne’s cell and up to Marilyn Monroe with Raquel Welch and (spoiler alert) what is behind that poster still to come.

I am not here to defend the offseason to date of Brian Cashman and David Stearns.

Mainly because we don’t know what their offseasons fully are. Your review of “Shawshank” at this similar juncture of the movie would not be the same as if you patiently saw if “Hope is a good thing.”

I get it that there is an infrastructure of fans and media who believe the in-the-moment loudest and most negative wins regardless if you have all the facts or not.
