Sunday is the day.
Sunday is when it happens.
MetLife Stadium and High Mark Stadium will be, paraphrasing ex-Post publisher Alexander Hamilton: “The rooms where it happens.”
The Yankees have been celebrating the power of 27 for 16 years now, for they have won 27 championships. Twenty-seven has long been a magical number for them. The ’27 Yankees steamrolled to a 110-44 record, then vaporized the poor Pirates in the World Series. Joe Girardi famously wore 27 when he first took the manager job because he wanted the world to see what his goal was: adding No. 27. He did that in his second year. Then he changed his number to 28.
