Everybody loves a winner.
Team USA, in winning their first men’s hockey gold medal since the Miracle on Ice in 1980, stole the hearts of many marquee American athletes.
In a Sunday morning affair that appeared to be the focus of many across state lines, NFL legend Tom Brady and Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes were among those toasting the gold medal winners after their dramatic 2-1 overtime victory over Canada.
“Legends,” Brady said on X, posting a photo of himself standing between overtime goal-scoring hero Jack Hughes and his brother Quinn.
Mahomes shouted out the team by posting three American flags after they won.
Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, who is on west coast time — they play at home against the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday night — said, “5am wake up well worth it!!”

Earlier in the Olympics, the women’s ice hockey Team USA squad also defeated Canada 2-1 to secure their own gold medal.
This marks the first time in Team USA history that both women’s and men’s squads won gold in the same Olympics.
Both teams won their third gold medal in their respective histories.
Canada, with nine gold medals, still have the most in men’s ice hockey history, but will enter 2030 in the midst of a drought.
Canada hasn’t won gold since the 2014 Olympics, though that marked a run of winning three in four Games.
