BALTIMORE — What more does Aaron Judge’s fellow co-star in the outfield have to do for the Juan Soto trade to be renamed the Trent Grisham trade?
All kidding aside, while Soto flourished in his one-and-done year with the Yankees, Grisham has given the deal some significant, if somewhat unexpected, value early on in Year 2.
After adjusting to not playing every day for the first time in his career last season, Grisham made strides on the mental side that have ironically helped lead to getting more everyday at-bats this season, with the Yankees reaping the benefits of his power at the plate and defense in center field.
“It’s a little bit affirming, but I’m not after having a good April,” Grisham said Monday at Camden Yards. “It’s all about the process for me right now, where I’m at mentally and riding that out.”
