USWNT star Mallory Swanson, MLB husband announce pregnancy: ‘Our greatest blessing’

Mallory and Dansby Swanson are expecting their first child together.

The couple announced the U.S. women’s national soccer team star’s pregnancy in a social media post on Wednesday.

“Our greatest blessing,” Mallory shared in a caption on Instagram.

Mallory, 27, plays for the Chicago Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League and missed the start of the regular season for what was called personal reasons.

She last played for the Stars in November.

The two have been together since 2017 and tied the knot in 2022 after Dansby, the shortstop for the Cubs, proposed the year prior.

“To get married in front of our family and friends is so special,” the couple told People when they got married. “It means that we are becoming one and get to impact God’s kingdom together.”

Mallory was on the USWNT squad that won the 2019 Women’s World Cup and took home gold in last year’s Paris Summer Olympics, scoring the lone goal in the Americans’ win over Brazil in the final.

Dansby, 31, is in his 10th MLB season after the Diamondbacks selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft before trading him to the Braves later that year.

The middle infielder spent seven seasons in Atlanta, where he was a member of the 2021 World Series championship team.

He also won a Gold Glove and was named to the All-Star team the following year.

The Vanderbilt alum signed a seven-year deal worth $177 million with the Cubs after the 2022 season and reached his second All-Star game and won another Gold Glove in 2023.

Now in his third season with the Cubs, Dansby is hitting .236 with seven home runs and 20 RBIs through 38 games.
