It ain’t over ’til it’s over.
That famous Yogi Berra quote holds true for both the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians, who are currently two games deep into the ALCS.
Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, Anthony Volpe and co. roared to a 2-0 lead in the series’ first two contests at Yankee Stadium. Two more wins behind starters Clarke Schmidt and Luis Gil would send them to their first World Series since 2009.
Not so fast though.
José Ramírez, Josh Naylor and Steven Kwan will try to erase that 0-2 deficit in games three, four and five at their home Progressive Field.
“We don’t quit,” Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said in a postgame press conference after game two. “We kept fighting. We did it again tonight. I’m excited to get home to Cleveland and play in front of our fans.”
As Yogi said, “it ain’t over ’til it’s over.”
And if you want to be there to root for the Yankees on the road or you’re a Guardians diehard pulling for a comeback, last-minute tickets are still available for all remaining games of the ALCS.
