LAS VEGAS — When Bo Horvat was in the midst of a 13-game scoring drought in November, Patrick Roy implored him to focus on other parts of his game, wanting to take his mind off the lack of scoring.
Brock Nelson’s current scoring drought reached 17 games Sunday, but Roy does not have to approach it the same way with No. 29. Nelson is not one to beat himself up, like Horvat, or get frustrated, like Mat Barzal. At least publicly, he is steady and optimistic, almost without fail.
“Definitely think I’d have some chances where I’d like to capitalize on it,” Nelson told The Post after Tuesday’s practice. “So with that, having not scored, trying to find ways to generate more chances. I know that it’s gonna go in [eventually].
“I feel great. So I know it’ll click, and all of a sudden, you string together a couple, and you start to feel good. Last game, had one. Had a good look. Thought our line did some things offensively to generate. Try to do more of that.”
