Michigan coach Kim Barnes Arico didn’t know what to expect of her team this season.
Being ranked No. 6 in the nation within the first month of the season probably wasn’t it, though.
Barnes Arico was concerned about the losses of Jordan Hobbs and Greta Kampschroeder, who graduated after last season. She was handing the keys of the team over to a talented sophomore trio of Syla Swords, Olivia Olson and Mila Holloway. But plenty of uncertainty loomed.
Who would be Michigan’s leader? Who was going to be the glue? Who was going to be the one to demand excellence from everybody day in and day out outside of the head coach?
