Actor James Hollcroft, best known for his work in the Mexican entertainment industry in shows like “Como dice el dicho,” was found dead after being reported missing, his family announced over the weekend.
The 26-year-old’s Sept. 3 disappearance and eventual death were both confirmed on social media by his sister, Jane Hollcroft.
“I will love you forever, thank you for the years we shared together and for giving me the most magnificent moments,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram.
“You will always be present in our hearts little brother.”
James had last been seen near his home in Mexico City, close to the Televisa studios where he worked and studied, his sister revealed.
The actor’s disappearance quickly gained attention from his fans, with many reposting calls for help searching for him online.
His brother-in-law, Arturo Avila Meija, mourned in an Instagram post, sharing a selfie of him and James.
“I wish that everything is just another dream, thank you for being the brother that you were, the uncle that you were with your nephews, the great son that you were,” he wrote.
“We are going to miss you a lot, this really breaks my heart. Today we are lowering the curtain here but I know that you are in heaven doing that great staging that you talked so much about.”
CEA Televisa, the entertainment educational institution James was a part of, celebrated his talent, potential, and impact he was able to cement during his budding career.
“Thank you for all those good times we spent together during your acting training,” CEA Televisa wrote in a statement.
“We will carry you in our memories and in our hearts, you will always be part of our CEA family, farewell dear James Hollcroft.”
Other CEA classmates and co-stars of James’ grieved their friend on social media, highlighting his dedication and natural charisma. Fans remembered him fondly for the life he was able to bring to each and every role.
“It hurts me a lot your departure, I have no words to tell you, my deepest condolences to your family this irreparable loss, Rest in Peace friend,” friend Germán López wrote on Instagram.
