Wild video shows an allegedly drunk plane passenger being handcuffed and eventually strapped to her seat after she started screaming that the plane was on fire.
The unidentified woman was on an Azul airline A329 Airbus flight from Recife in Brazil on Friday when crew members rushed to try to calm her down as she started yelling, footage shared by Newsflash shows.
The rowdy passenger swatted away staff when they tried to subdue her with hand restraints, continuing to yell that the plane was doomed to crash as other passengers looked on in shock, the footage shows.
The passenger was finally cuffed after being moved to the plane’s galley kitchen — before being secured and strapped to her seat, video and pics show.
She was arrested upon landing at Viracopos Airport after the three-hour flight, Brazil media reports.
“An undisciplined customer was immobilized during the journey, as she was a risk to the crew and other customers,” Azul airline later confirmed in a statement.
“This company follows the highest safety standards and regulations of national and international authorities.
“In addition, we periodically conduct training with staff at airports, including aircrews and pilots, in order to prepare them to deal with disruptive customers,” the statement continued.
