A crazed, grinning knifeman was seen brandishing two giant blades as he stalked an Edinburgh neighborhood and allegedly stabbed two people.
The lunatic, wearing camouflage clothing, barricaded himself in an apartment building Monday morning and offered a sinister grin to armed police while locals on the ground shouted abuse at him, as reported by Edinburgh Live.
The man entered the stairwell of an apartment complex after he “smashed the local shop and possibly stabbed two people,” resident William Ramsay told the Press Association.
“Armed police, dogs been here for about two hours,” he said.
Scott Kennedy, Police Scotland’s chief inspector, confirmed the incident is “not being treated as terror-related.”
“The earlier disturbance in the Calder area of Edinburgh is now contained and there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public,” he said.
The two people injured were taken to an Edinburgh hospital, while a local school was locked down.
Police Scotland has not confirmed if the man has been arrested.
