Israeli soldiers raised the Jewish state’s flag in Lebanon as part of its ongoing assault on Hezbollah terrorists.
A trio of Israel Defense Forces members were seen planting the flag on top of rubble in Maroun El Ras in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, a video shared by KANN News shows.
Maroun El Ras is less than 1 kilometer from the northern Israeli border. The IDF has “occupied” the village and destroyed houses from which Hezbollah was believed to have launched missiles at northern Israel, according to Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen.

The soldiers in the KANN News footage appeared to be in the “Iran Garden,” a propaganda tourist attraction that overlooks the Israeli towns of Avivim and Yiron, Ynet News noted.
The Iran Garden was opened at the site of a major battle of the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war by former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2010, the outlet said.
The site featured a model of the Dome of the Rock mosque in Jerusalem, as well as billboards of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
There was also a large cutout of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani pointing toward Israel, according to the Lebanese news source The 961.
By Tuesday, the site was mostly reduced to rubble as a result of the year-long fighting between Hezbollah and Israel, which started in the days after the Hamas terror attack on Oct. 7, 2023.
