She was fuhrer-ious.

A woman protesting the rise of Germany’s populist right-wing party was busted for scrawling swastikas while completely topless — and looking like Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

The half-naked protester was filmed defacing remnants of the Berlin Wall kept outside the German embassy in Ukraine capital Kyiv on Sunday with a Hitler mustache and swept-over cropped dark hair styled like the Nazi dictator.

She was completely topless, with a red swastika armband painted on her arm — and big letters on her chest saying “Heil Weidel,” comparing Alice Weidel, the leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), to Hitler.

She had a similar message on her back, with the words “Weidel Putin slut” suggesting Wediel is a “puppet” to warmongering Russian dictator Vladimir Putin

Wearing nothing but a pair of traditional German Lederhosen pants, she was seen throwing a Nazi salute after spraypainting a giant black swastika on a section of the former Berlin Wall kept there.

A security official appears to detain her briefly before the video cuts to her standing in front of the embassy again. She then picks up her jacket and walks away undisturbed.

The women’s rights group FEMEN later confirmed the unidentified protester was one of its members.

“FEMEN reminds [people] that tolerating right-wing radical scum is the path to the revival of Nazism,” the group said of the AfD, which secured more than a fifth of the votes cast in Sunday’s German elections.

“We draw the swastika not just as a warning, but as a mirror for those who pretend that nothing is happening. Look closely! If you don’t come to your senses, tomorrow this swastika will become your flag, and the day after that, a weapon against you,” the group wrote alongside photos of the protest.

Germany is the second-biggest supporter of Ukraine in terms of aid behind the US, with $27.5 billion pledged so far along with a further $27.6 billion pledged as part of Germany’s membership of the European Union, according to data from the Ukraine Support Tracker.

However, the AfD has made clear its disdain for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

When Zelensky spoke before the German Bundestag in June last year and asked for more support for his country’s war efforts, many AfD politicians left the chamber, as did members of the far-left BSW party, German outlet DW reported at the time.

The AfD secured most of its support in the former East Germany, which between 1949 and 1990 was a communist-run Soviet puppet state.

Many parts of the former east remain far poorer than the west of Germany, as frustrations over immigration, migrant crime, and a sluggish economy led voters to turn against the left-wing SDP in Sunday’s election.

In the preliminary results, the AfD looks to have secured its best-ever result, finishing second overall with almost 21% of votes cast.

In contrast, the SDP of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was beaten into third spot with just 16% of the vote, its worst result since the end of the Second World War.

The CDU/CSU, a conservative voting block, won with 28.5%, meaning leader Friederich Merz is set to become Germany’s next chancellor if he can put together a coalition.

Merz has ruled out any coalition with the AfD, but has looked to outflank the party to the right on immigration.

He has also spoken out against what he called US “intervention” in Germany’s elections, calling for Europe to “achieve independence from the USA.”
