ATLANTA — The Mets are all but dead in the standings, but still have nearly half a season to play, with plenty of innings to cover.
Another arm is forthcoming. The team on Monday acquired reliever Matt Seelinger from the Tigers for cash considerations.
Seelinger, 31, posted a 3.89 ERA in his 27 appearances this season for Triple-A Toledo.

Seelinger, a career minor leaguer, grew up on Long Island.
He previously spent time in the Pirates, Rays, Giants and Phillies organizations.
