It is “Monday Night Football” time, so we’ve reached the end of the road for the NFL week.
This was a solid week in terms of betting and in terms of the games overall. It would be nice to close this one out on a solid note with a win in tonight’s game. This is definitely the matchup of the week as we get a potential Super Bowl preview of the Bills taking on the Rams.
The Buffalo Bills are coming off of their first loss of the season. They dropped a home game to the New England Patriots for the second straight year. It wasn’t a blowout or anything; the Bills just barely lost the game. They opened the season on the road against the Texans and won 36-31.

The past three weeks have been home games. They took down the Lions and then beat the Chargers in the two weeks prior to the match with New England.
As is usually the case with the Bills, Josh Allen is what makes the entire team work. On offense, he is responsible for 13 of their 16 offensive touchdowns. He has seven rushing touchdowns in four games this season. Allen has run the ball 33 times already this season, and it feels like he might be more dangerous when he is running than when he is passing the ball.
Coming into this week, the Rams are one of the best passing defenses in football, but the running defense is slightly worse.

Most of the story around the Rams will be about how Los Angeles added key pieces to the defense last year. The offense was already humming with MVP Matthew Stafford under center, and they upgraded the other side of the ball. This was a team that was really the only one to give the Super Bowl Seahawks a game from last season’s playoffs. Expectations were high for this team, and still are despite Myles Garrett being injured.

It has been a mixed bag of results for the Rams. The season opener was an absolutely brutal performance against a 49ers team that looks like the best team in football. So, let’s throw that out.
They beat the Giants the following week, 28-6. That game saw Jaxon Dart get injured as well. They had one win and one loss that were a bit of outliers. They faced the Broncos and Eagles in the past two games. They let the Broncos game slip through their grasp. They came back against the Eagles.
What I’m getting at here is that this team is overly inconsistent and hard to judge.

In this game, the first instinct is to take the over because both the Bills and Rams are viewed as offensive teams. Buffalo has a bottom-half rushing defense. They also have one of the worst passing defenses in football. I like Davante Adams in the game to score a touchdown and for some player props. For the game, I’ll take the Rams -3. Maybe it is just that I like them at home, but I think their defense and a working offense will do enough to stop Allen and the Bills.
