Chaos at Port of Los Angeles as shipping containers plummet from massive cargo ship

Multiple shipping containers fell off a cargo ship into the water at the Port of Los Angeles Monday morning.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at Berth 302, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

Video of the scene shows that at least one container was floating in the water close to the enormous ship.

A more zoomed out view shows the ship and floating container close to the entrance of the port.

It’s unclear if any other containers sank into the ocean ground.

There were no injuries. The reason for the incident remains unknown.

Port of Los Angeles is known to be one of the busiest container seaports in the Western hemisphere.

The port is located in San Pedro Bay, which is about 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

It serves as a primary gateway for international trade between the United States and Asia.
