The investigation centered directly beneath a large, arched blue Disneyland Resort entrance sign.
Police officers cordoned off the sidewalk with yellow crime scene tape and erected a black privacy partition under the gateway to screen the body from passing vehicles and pedestrians.
A beer can was reportedly found near the deceased, though investigators have not established whether it played any role in the death. The cause of death remains unknown.
Footage from the scene showed Orange County Coroner’s office personnel in formal suits loading a covered mortuary gurney into an unmarked white minivan parked along Katella Avenue.
Uniformed Anaheim police officers remained at the taped-off perimeter to document evidence.
Pedestrians were redirected around the blocked-off section while authorities processed the area.
Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased or additional details regarding the circumstances of the incident, but the LA Times reports the deceased was a 65-year-old man.
