Mangione was caught in Altoona, Pennsylvania on Dec. 9, 2024, five days after he shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan.

Portions of the voluminous video footage, taken from cameras of eight officers who were present for Mangione’s arrest in a McDonald’s, had previously been shown during a court hearing last year but were just made public after a Manhattan judge ruled they could be released.

The footage captures officers questioning Mangione at a McDonald’s on Dec. 9, 2024, before he is handcuffed, searched, and transported.

Mangione, 28, pleaded guilty in August to federal stalking charges connected to Thompson’s death and has since asked a judge to toss his state murder case on the claim he’s protected under double jeopardy laws following his plea.

“I shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan, and he died,” Mangione said at the Aug. 14, plea hearing. He’s set to be sentenced in that case on Dec. 18.

Trial for his state case has been postponed while a judge rules on Mangione’s motion to dismiss the murder case.
