A heavy-set American man in his 30s was taken into custody after he viciously attacked two U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) service members in their 20s on a street in Sinjang-dong early Sunday morning.

The neighborhood sits right next to Osan Air Base, a key hub for American air power defending the Republic of Korea against North Korean aggression.

A witness video that quickly went viral shows the suspect kicking and shoving one soldier before turning on the pair’s female companion.

When the second soldier tried to intervene, the American punched him squarely in the face, knocking him unconscious. The young service member lay motionless on the pavement for some time as the attacker continued his rampage, according to the Korean Herald.
