It remains to be seen if the local AI solution will give DSGI an edge.
It’s a dog-eat-dog world where, when it comes to the great world powers, everyone spies on everyone. That is a given.
But in the context of the fraying relations between the US and the Euro-Globalists, it does seem that these NATO ‘allies’ make a point out of marking their differences with the Donald J. Trump administration every step of the way.
Today, we learn that French spies are dropping Palantir AI tech over fears of both the dependence on American software and surveillance by the US.
🇫🇷 🇺🇸 Big unexpected news: France ends the contract between Palantir and DGSI (domestic intelligence agency).
Palantir will be replaced by ChapsVision. The contract had previously been renewed several times for lack of alternative.

The Telegraph reported:
“France’s domestic intelligence agency will end its use of the controversial surveillance giant co-founded by Peter Thiel, the Silicon Valley billionaire who is close to Donald Trump.
The announcement by France’s General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) comes with Britain under pressure to cut ties with the data-analysis firm. Its systems are used by the NHS and police.
Sebastien Lecornu, the French prime minister, said Paris could no longer tolerate ‘strategic dependencies’ in the digital sphere, as he announced €655m (£558m) in public investment in French artificial intelligence.”

Palantir denies that its agreement with the DGSI has been terminated despite the French PM’s announcement today that the contract had been awarded to Chapsvision. In this Paris vs Palantir PR war, the complex practical realities are being deliberately left out.

“The dramatic shift follows Washington’s decision last week to force Anthropic to cut foreign users off from its most powerful AI models, Fable and Mythos, citing national security concerns.
The episode shocked European governments and was seized upon by French politicians as proof that the US could not be treated as a dependable technology partner under Mr. Trump.”
Campaign groups in Europe have long warned that Palantir’s products ‘pose risks to privacy, civil liberties and data protection’.
