This cow was in no mooood.
A rambunctious bovine reportedly bolted away from its owners in western Utica, leading authorities on a wild chase to capture it Tuesday.
“God forbid it collided with a car moving at a high rate of speed,” Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol told the Rome Sentinel.
The cow freed itself from its trailer during a cattle offloading, according to WKTV.
After heading northbound to woods behind the Red Roof Inn off I-90, the heifer took a break in a nearby creek.
Authorities used thermal imaging and a drone to track the animal and keep it away from traffic during an extensive operation led by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Utica Police Department, state police and the state Department of Transportation.
Professional horseback herders arrived and eventually corralled the cow back into its trailer without the use of sedatives.
“We’re just grateful that it came to a successful end; last thing we wanted to do is have this cow run out into the road,” Maciol told WKTV.
“We only know what the outcome of that is; this cow’s probably about 1,250 pounds, somewhere in that neighborhood.”
The owner reportedly paid the upstate cowboys for their services.
As for the heifer, it’s bound for a farm in Poland, Herkimer County.
