Grammy winner serenades Spencer Pratt with anti-Bass anthem at star-studded LA fundraiser

Spencer Pratt got the royal treatment at a recent fundraiser for his mayoral campaign — including a special musical performance by Grammy-winning host David Foster and his singer wife Katharine McPhee.

Video from the event at the couple’s Brentwood home showed Foster playing piano as McPhee sang a customized rendition of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best.”

“He is simply the best, better than all the rest, better than Karen Bass and Nithya Raman,” McPhee is seen belting out as Pratt looks on. “He’s going to fix this broken LA.”

Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer attended fundraiser, while Los Angeles Lakers minority owner Jeanie Buss has donated the maximum allowable amount to Pratt’s campaign, Vanity Fair reported.

The fundraiser underscored Pratt’s growing support among entertainment industry figures and influencers, despite criticism from opponents who have labeled the former “The Hills” star as a polarizing outsider candidate.

His campaign has increasingly leaned into viral online messaging, podcasts, meme culture and social media clips portraying Los Angeles as dysfunctional and poorly managed.

New polling suggests Pratt’s unconventional approach may be resonating with voters frustrated by homelessness, rising living costs, and lingering anger over the city’s response to the devastating 2025 wildfires that destroyed parts of Los Angeles, including Pratt’s Pacific Palisades home.

One recent survey found Bass leading the field with 30% support among likely voters, while Pratt climbed to 22%, ahead of Raman’ at ‘s 19%.

Pratt, a registered Republican who is running as an independent, has also overtaken Bass in campaign fundraising.

Among Pratt’s donors are entertainment producer Jeff Jenkins, businessman Rick Salomon and former “Hills” co-star Doug Reinhardt.

Other celebrities and reality TV personalities publicly backing Pratt include Paris Hilton, Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, James Woods, DJ Kaskade, podcaster Nick Viall, and former “Millionaire Matchmaker” star Patti Stanger.

Bass and Raman’s campaigns did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding Pratt’s growing celebrity support and fundraising momentum.

Mike Madrid, a GOP strategist, thinks Bass would benefit from Pratt and Bass on the November ballot, as opposed to socialist-linked Raman making the cut.

“I think the chances of Bass making the runoff are considerably higher than they were before the debate,” he told the Post. “She’s been trying to elevate Pratt. That’s the best way that she can survive. Does Pratt making the runoff benefit him? Of course, it benefits him because he’s the candidate, but it benefits Bass more.”
