A Southern California family was miraculously reunited with their missing Cocker Spaniel seven years after the beloved pup disappeared while they were moving.
The dog, Corduroy, vanished in 2019 as the family was preparing to move from Los Angeles to San Diego, according to LA Animal Services.
“His disappearance broke their hearts, especially his best friend, Samantha’s young daughter,” the group wrote in a social media post.

In an unbelievable twist, Corduroy showed up at LA Animal Services’ North Central Animal Shelter last month.
Officials were able to track down the dog’s family because he had a microchip — leading to the emotional reunion.

“They made the trip from San Diego to bring him home, and the reunion was filled with hugs, smiles, and happy tears,” LA Animal Services said.
The group shared before-and-after photos of a young girl posing with the dog, and the pair together again seven years later.
“Corduroy’s story is a powerful reminder: microchips help bring lost pets home, even years later!” LA Animal Services added.
“LA City residents can have their pets microchipped at any of our six LA Animal Services Centers. There is no appointment needed and the cost to microchip your pet is $15.”
