CHICAGO — The husband of accused perv teacher Christina Formella was spotted without his wedding ring — after publicly standing by her for months as she faced charges that she sexually assaulted a teenage student nearly 50 times.
Michael Formella, scion to a Chicago-area Italian food purveyor, was seen Thursday in the first sign that his and Christina’s marriage could be on the rocks after her arrest over the vile allegations in March 2025.
Christina, 31, allegedly stepped out on Michael with a 15-year-old student, whom prosecutors said she started grooming when the boy was just 14 and she was his soccer coach and tutor at Downers Grove High School in a western suburb of Chicago.
It remains unclear if the couple are still together; no divorce filings appear in Illinois civil court records.
Christina is accused of humiliating Michael, her college sweetheart, in between their engagement, wedding and honeymoon in Italy, according to prosecutors — with Christina even accused of having sex with the boy in her marital home as well as in her classrooms.
Michael appeared unfazed by those alarming allegations for over a year, however, with him and Christina seen marching hand-in-hand into nearly every one of her hearings since her arrest.
His family also appeared to stand by the accused predator, and were seen attending hearings in solidarity with the couple.
Both Michael and his family were even reportedly seen supporting Christina as recently as last week at her most recent hearing on May 13, local crime TikTokker Abby Blabby, who has closely followed the case, told The Post.
Christina has been out on monitored release since her 2025 arrest, which came after the mother of her alleged victim stumbled upon a trove of text messages in her son’s phone, according to docs.
They allegedly painted a picture of a twisted relationship that lasted from December 2023 to September 2024, with Christina discussing having sex with the boy, professing her undying love for him — and allegedly claiming she was planning to leave her husband so she and the teenage student could run off together.
“I love having sex with you,” she allegedly said in one message.
And Christina even allegedly put Michael’s family in the crosshairs of her ambitions with the boy — telling the teen she was going to leave Michael and would get millions from the Formella fortune in the divorce.
The allegations are a far cry from the storybook American love tale they seemed to once have.
Photos from across social media showed the pair smiling together as star athletes at Concordia University Chicago — Christina a soccer player, Michael an ace baseball pitcher — embracing in the years after graduation, and ecstatically in love at their Italian coast wedding.
But Christina was allegedly abusing the boy both before and after the wedding — with Michael telling cops he was completely blindsided about the affair allegations after his wife’s arrest.
And the allegations rocked the couple’s picture perfect life — they were forced to move out of their prim suburban home and in with parents, because the house fell within a court-ordered 5,000-foot buffer zone between Christina and the alleged victim.
Christina, meanwhile, claimed the allegations were blackmail because she was “good looking,” with her family doubling down on that stance months after her arrest.
“Instead of discussing facts or law, public discourse fixates on Christina’s appearance, her private life, even her lipstick — as if those details bear on guilt or innocence,” the family said in a July statement.
“Christina has been splintered into internet caricatures — ‘predator,’ ‘unfaithful wife,’ ‘hypocrite,’” the family added.
She was charged with over 50 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault.
